Field Hockey’s Olivia Barnes Named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass. (October 1, 2019) – Junior goalkeeper Olivia Barnes (Greenwich, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, for the week ending on Sept. 29, as announced on Tuesday by the Conference office.

Barnes played every minute in goal for the Ravens last week in a 2-0 week, and posted a 1.00 goals-against average and an .818 save percentage along the way. Over the course of the two victories, Barnes made a total of nine saves against 11 shots on her goal. In Wednesday’s win at Bentley, she stopped six of eight shots, and then followed up on Saturday with a three-save shutout of Molloy.

On the season, Barnes has logged 485:06 in the Franklin Pierce net while starting all eight games the team has played. She has made 46 saves against 56 shots on goal to post a 1.24 goals-against average and an .821 save percentage. Barnes owns a 4-4 record with one shutout.

The Ravens return to the field later on Tuesday, when they remain home to host St. Thomas Aquinas in an NE10 contest. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Sodexo Field.
