Men’s Ice Hockey’s Ian Wallace Named NE10 Goaltender of the Week

RINDGE, N.H. (November 7, 2018) – Sophomore goaltender Ian Wallace (West Islip, N.Y.) of the Franklin Pierce University men’s ice hockey team has been selected as Northeast-10 Conference Goaltender of the Week, for the week ending on Nov. 4, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

Wallace played every minute in net in a 2-0-0 week for the Ravens. He piled up 68 saves against 71 shots to post a 1.46 goals-against average and a .958 save percentage. Wallace made 34 saves against 36 shots in a 5-2 win over Anna Maria at home last Tuesday night. He then collected 34 more saves, against 35 shots, in a 2-1, overtime win at Worcester State on Friday afternoon.

On the season, Wallace has started all four games in net for the Ravens and logged more than 85% of the team’s minutes. He has recorded 120 saves against 131 shots on goal to post a 3.13 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage, on the way to a 3-1-0 record.

It is Wallace’s first career NE10 weekly award.

The Ravens return to the ice on Friday, Nov. 9, when they travel to Saint Michael’s for an NE10 contest. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at Cairns Arena in South Burlington, Vermont.
