Castorf, Bastianelli Named to NEILA Division II Second Team

RINDGE, N.H. (May 18, 2019) – Franklin Pierce University men's lacrosse senior Jake Castorf (Holbrook, N.Y.) and freshman Lawrence Bastianelli (Rocky Point, N.Y.) has been selected to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) 2019 Division II All-New England Second Team it was announced Tuesday. It is the first All-New England honors for both players.


Castorf, an attack selection, appeared in 13 games for the Ravens earning a start in 11 of them. He carried the load on offense for Pierce with a team and career-high 32 goals and 45 points, chipping in a squad-best 13 assists. He also caused a personal-high best nine turnovers on the defensive end. Castorf concluded his Raven career ranking second all-time in program history in goals (90), assists (46) and points (136).

Bastianelli, the face-off specialist choice appeared in all 13 games for the Ravens including 11 starts. He paced the squad with 86 groundballs which ranked fourth in the conference and also is the highest single-season total in program history. The newcomer led the Crimson and Grey in the X winning 160 faceoffs in 286 attempts (56%) as his 160 faceoff wins was the fifth highest mark in the league. On the offensive side, Bastianelli scored three times, dished out one assist for four total points.

The Ravens finished the 2019 season with a 5-8 overall record and 3-8 mark in conference play.
