    RINDGE, N.H. (March 19, 2012) -- Franklin Pierce University Vice President/Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh announced on Monday that Ian Clerihew has been named the new head coach of the men's soccer program, and will begin his duties effective on April 9. Clerihew brings extensive collegiate coaching experience from the Division I, II and III levels, including serving as head coach at Mars Hill College in North Carolina during the past three seasons.

He recently interviewed for the same position at Providence College, an NCAA Division I program which competes in the Big East Conference, and is expected to be named to that job in the near future.

Men’s soccer senior forward Victor Goncalves (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), senior goalkeeper Vinny Papageorgiou (Wilmington, Mass.) and senior back Tom Reilly (Wallasey, England); field hockey senior forward Tia Levins (Manchester, Maine) and senior goalkeeper Brittany Nyzio (Attleboro, Mass.); and women’s soccer senior midfielder Aya Noguchi (Tokyo, Japan) and senior forward Amanda Panaro (Rockland, Mass.) were among 92 athletes across seven sports honored by the Northeast-10.

The contest was moved due to unplayable field conditions on the Franklin Pierce campus, caused by this past weekend's snow storm which bombarded the New England region.
