Freshman Duo, Poon-Lewis Lead Ravens to Shutout Win

RINDGE, N.H. (September 6, 2017) – Franklin Pierce University men's soccer freshman forward Yannik Felber (Koblenz, Germany) scored two goals in 23 seconds as the Crimson and Grey shutout non-conference foe Dominican (N.Y.) College 2-0 Wednesday evening on a rain soaked Sodexo Field.

With the win the Ravens guide to 2-0 overall and with the setback, the Chargers crumble to 0-3. Dominican still hasn't notched a goal in their three contests this year and they were outshot 19-6 in the duel.

Fellow freshman Oran Ben Zion (Tel Aviv, Israel) teamed up with Felber on his first collegiate marker as Ben Zion lofted the ball into the box to Felber who dangled around defender and put in a shot right side to make it 1-0 Ravens in the 56th minute.

23 seconds later, Felber footed the rock inside the box again, settled the ball and poked a shot past Charger keeper Joshua Stephens for his second goal of the contest. Felber had a few chances to tally a hat trick, but every other shot he took was off the mark.

Allthough he only faced six total shots throughout the contest, Raven sophomore netminder Jadel Poon-Lewis (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago) turned away all four shots on goal en route to his fourth career shutout victory. Chargers goalie Joshua Stephens fell to 0-3 as he made six stops in the setback.

The Ravens return to the pitch on Tuesday, September 12th when they begin Northeast-10 Conference play at Le Moyne College with kickoff slated for 3:00 p.m.
