He was one of eight Ravens to receive yearly honors.

Second-half tallies from sophomore forward Isak Helgason (Kopavogur, Iceland) and junior forward Antonio Ferreira (Madrid, Spain) were the difference in a 2-0 win over Stonehill in Northeast-10 Conference play.

    RINDGE, N.H. (September 28, 2019) – The score line ultimately stood at just 2-0, but the stat line told a much more lopsided story on Saturday afternoon at Sodexo Field. The Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team piled up advantages of 20-6 in shot attempts, 8-3 in shots on goal and 8-3 in corner kicks, as the Ravens posted a 2-0 win over Saint Rose in what could have easily been a four- or five-goal Northeast-10 Conference affair. Graduate student midfielder Javier García Borrás (Alzira, Spain) scored early for Franklin Pierce, while junior forward Yannik Felber (Vallendar, Germany) provided a second-half insurance tally.

(September 21, 2019) -- An 80th-minute goal from graduate student forward Stefan Lohberger (Schoellnach, Germany) gave the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team a thrilling, 2-1 win over the Southern New Hampshire Penmen on the road at Penmen Stadium. The Ravens opened up Northeast-10 Conference play against their cross-state rivals and improved to 3-1-1 on the season (1-0-0 NE10). The Penmen fall to 2-2-1 on the young season (0-1-0 NE10).

  • CHANGING OF THE GUARD: New Faces, New Identity for Men’s Soccer

    A new coaching staff can be extremely stressful for any sports team, especially for a team that is also composed of primarily new players. When head men’s soccer coach Ruben Resendes was hired in January, there were 23 players on the team. By the end of June, there were only 11, due to transferring students and graduates. Resendes, along with other coaches and players, was able to build up the team to the current roster of 32 players and two new assistant coaches.
  • Franklin Pierce Athletics Announces 2019 Hall of Fame Class

    RINDGE, N.H. (September 12, 2019) – Two National Players of the Year, another All-America selection and a two-time All-Northeast-10 Conference selection highlight the Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics’ 2019 Hall of Fame class, as announced on Thursday afternoon. The four-athlete class represents five sports and will be honored over the course of Hall of Fame Weekend on Nov. 8 and 9. The formal induction will take place at a private social on Friday night, Nov. 8. The quartet will then be honored publicly on Saturday, in conjunction with the Nov. 9 football game against Bentley.

    After beginning the season with two consecutive shutout victories, the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team suffered their first loss of the 2019 campaign, a 2-1 decision to non-conference and no. 16 nationally-ranked Mercy College on Mercy Field Thursday afternoon. The loss sends the Ravens to 2-1-0 on the year while the Mavericks move to 2-0-1.

    RINDGE, N.H. (September 8, 2019) – In a game which was hardly kept under control by the rash of bookings administered, the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team locked horns with Bridgeport in a high-tension, early-season, non-conference match at Sodexo Field on Sunday afternoon. The referee was kept busy throughout, as the teams combined for eight cautions for a mix of hard play, backtalk and time wasting. The Ravens eventually mixed in a goal among the deck of cards to pull out the 1-0 victory, which capped a busy opening weekend of the fall season in Rindge. The lone score came in the 69th minute, as junior back Cristobal Andreu (Castellon de la Plana, Spain) converted on a free kick by graduate student forward Javier Gonzalez Carraminana (Madrid, Spain).

The Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics is geared up for its own jam-packed opening weekend, which will see games on Sodexo Field Thursday through Sunday, giving fans plenty of opportunities to come out and catch the Ravens in action.
