BOSTON (February 9, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team was in action on Saturday at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University. The meet served as the team's final tune-up before next weekend's Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
Junior Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) had the strongest single performance of the day for the Ravens on Saturday, as he turned in a top-20 finish in the 400 meters. Guay stopped the clock at 48.74 seconds, which was good for 16th place.
Meanwhile, freshman Riley Fenoff (Danville, Vt.) turned in a pair of performances which may not catch the eye in terms of position finish, but were respectable times within the NE10. He posted a 1:58.11 to finish 156th in the 800 meters, and doubled back with a time of 4:20.09 to place 130th in the 800 meters. Both times should rank in the top 15 in the NE10 on the season.
Fenoff was followed in the 800 meters by junior Tyler Hayes (Kings Park, N.Y.), who finished 162nd, with a time of 1:58.11.
Freshman Croix Albee (Trenton, Maine) had the most notable field-event performance of the day for the Ravens. He posted a throw of 13.76 meters in the shot put, which was good enough for a 16th-place finish.
The Ravens are back in action on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 16-17, when they travel to Northampton, Mass., for the NE10 Championships, which will be hosted by American International College, on the campus of Smith College.
