Rowing Team Honors Seniors at New England Rowing Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. (May 7, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University rowing program headed back to Worcester on Saturday for the New England Rowing Championships.

After the races, the team honored their seven seniors, Sophia Alexandrou (Windham, N.H.), Marykate Cullinane (Medford, Mass.), Hannah Eldridge (Northbridge, Mass.), Holly Hay (Miller Place, N.Y.), Kaitlin Morin (Raymond, N.H.), Shelby Telega (South Deerfield, Mass.) and Kyra Fairley (Kingston, N.Y.) for their contributions to the team, the athletic department and the Franklin Pierce University community.

The Ravens fielded two boats which both qualified and raced in the Petite finals. The Varsity 4+ grouping consisted of coxswain, sophomore Allison Lashua (Templeton, Mass.), Telega, junior Katrina Grabeau (Nashua, N.H.), Hay and Alexandrou placed fifth five seconds ahead of Mass Maritime at 8:52.239.

The second boat, the JV 4+ filled by coxswain, freshman Emme Ostrander (Westborough, Mass.), Morin, freshman Alexandra Contino (Galloway, N.J.), Eldridge and sophomore Katrina Wilson (Rindge, N.H.)  brought home fifth completing the course with an 8:59.891 time.

The Ravens conclude their season this coming weekend at the two-day Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa.
