EASTON, Mass. (September 26, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was defeated on the road on Wednesday afternoon, 7-0, at Stonehill in Northeast-10 Conference play.
With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 1-5 (1-2 NE10), while Stonehill improves to 4-0 (4-0 NE10).
Stonehill opened play by sweeping the three doubles matches the claim the doubles point. The Skyhawks lost just three games in doubles play.
Stonehill also took wins in all six singles contests as well, to finish off the 7-0 sweep. For the Ravens, senior Shelli Safran (Boxborough, Mass.) won six games along the way, while junior Alana Wyatt (Worcester, Mass.) claimed five of her own. Safran dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Stonehill junior Anastasiya Shyianok at sixth singles, while Wyatt was defeated at first singles by sophomore Isabelle Porter, 6-4, 6-1.
The Ravens return to the court on Saturday, Sept. 29, when they travel to take on Bentley in an NE10 match, which will be contested at noon on the campus of Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
