Lambert, Kauffman, Maresca, Koch break 10 minutes for the first time
Koch ran the anchor leg for the 4x800-meter relay team at the NEICAAA Championship on Saturday.
BOSTON, Mass. (February 23, 2013) – The Franklin Pierce University women's track and field team's 4x800-meter relay squad knocked over 50 seconds off the program's best time in the event on Saturday on the second and final day of the NEICAAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, hosted by Boston University at BU Track and Tennis Center.
The Ravens sent out a relay lineup of freshman Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) to graduate student Amanda Kauffman (Rockland, Mass.) to freshman Ashley Maresca (Brant Lake, N.Y.) to freshman Danielle Koch (Coventry, Conn.), which posted a time of 9:54.75. It was the program's first time under 10 minutes in the event and, though the squad finished 23rd out of 24 teams in the event, was a marked improvement over its time in the event at last week's Northeast-10 Championship (10:45.07). Head Coach Zach Emerson called it the program's "performance of the year".
The members of the 4x800-meter relay team were the only Ravens to compete on the second day of the NEICAAA Championship.
