NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (April 2, 2016) – Senior Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) ran the fastest 800-meter time in the Northeast-10 Conference so far this spring on Saturday, leading the way for the Franklin Pierce University women's track & field team at the CCSU Invitational, hosted by Central Connecticut State.
Lambert's 800 time of 2:24.67 was good for seventh in the event on Saturday in New Britain. Elsewhere, she also added a second-place finish in the mile, with a time of 5:07.90.
The Ravens scored another pair of top-five finishes on the track in the Hardware City. Senior Monique Loney (Stamford, Conn.) finished third in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 27.09 seconds, while junior Breigh Souliere (Cumberland, R.I.) placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, with a time of 15.91 seconds. Souliere's mark was good for second in the Northeast-10 so far this spring in the event.
Meanwhile, in field events, freshman Lilian Baah (Danielson, Conn.) put together a pair of top-five finishes. In the triple jump, she finished third with a mark of 10.95 meters, which was good for second in the Conference. In the long jump, she placed fifth with a mark of 4.95 meters, which was good for a tie for third in the league.
The Ravens return to the track on Saturday, April 9, when they travel to the Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by American International in Springfield, Mass.
