  • Volleyball and Women's Indoor & Outdoor Track & Field Teams Earn NE-10 Team Academic Excellence Awards

    RINDGE, N.H. (July 1, 2013) – The Northeast-10 Conference announced on Monday that the Franklin Pierce University volleyball and women’s indoor & outdoor track & field teams were named the Team Academic Excellence Award winners for their respective sport for the 2012-13 school year.
  • Amobi Armstrong to Compete for Saint Lucia in NORCECA Volleyball World Championship Qualifying

    GROS ISLET, Saint Lucia (April 25, 2013) – Assistant Coach Amobi Armstrong of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has returned to his native Saint Lucia this month, in preparation to play at the national level this week in the second round of NORCECA qualifying for the 2014 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship. Saint Lucia will host Haiti, El Salvador and Saint Kitts and Nevis on April 27-28 at Beausejour Indoor Stadium in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.
  • Volleyball Wins NERVA Tournament in Spring Season

    NORWOOD, Mass. (April 23, 2013) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team was in non-traditional-season action over the weekend, as it traveled to MGA Sports Center to play in a collegiate tournament put on by the New England Region Volleyball Association. At the event, Franklin Pierce won its pool before defeating Saint Anselm and Bentley to claim the title.
  • Three Ravens Earn Spots on Fall Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Teams

(March 14, 2013) – Three Franklin Pierce University student-athletes have been named to the fall 2012 Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference Team in their respective sports, as announced recently by the Conference office. Men’s soccer graduate student back Tom Leaver (Warwickshire, United Kingdom), women’s soccer graduate student midfielder Aya Noguchi (Tokyo, Japan) and volleyball junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) were among 87 athletes across seven sports honored by the Northeast-10.

    WEST HAVEN, Conn. (November 29, 2012) – Four players recorded eight or more kills on Thursday night, led by 10 from junior middle Katie Jackson (Centennial, Colo.), but the fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University volleyball team was defeated, 3-1, by fourth-seeded New York Tech in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championship East Regional, hosted by New Haven at Charger Gymnasium. Junior outside hitters Shelby Cable and Savannah Donarksi had 18 and 16 kills, respectively, to pace NYIT.

    RINDGE, N.H. (November 18, 2012) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named as the fifth seed of the NCAA Championship East Regional, as announced Sunday night by the NCAA. It marks the first NCAA Championship selection in program history. The Ravens, a Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinalist, earn an at-large bid in the eight-team tournament, which will run Thursday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, Dec. 1 and be hosted by top seed New Haven at Charger Gymnasium in West Haven, Conn. Franklin Pierce will open play on Thursday against fourth-seeded New York Tech.
  • Dragan Named Northeast-10 Coach of the Year; Volleyball Has Three Honored by Conference

(November 15, 2012) – Head Coach Stephanie Dragan of the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year, as announced Thursday by the Conference office. In addition, three players received accolades from the Conference: junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was selected to the All-Northeast-10 First Team, junior libero Lauren Miller (Alexandria, Ind.) was selected to the All-Northeast-10 Second Team and freshman middle Lina Kleinschmidt (Santa Barbara, Calif.) was selected to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team.

    RINDGE, N.H. (November 13, 2012) – Freshman outside hitter Sydni Schulz (Cypress, Texas) hammered out 13 kills with just two errors over 30 attempts to hit a team-best .367 on Tuesday night, but the third-seeded Franklin Pierce University volleyball team was defeated, 3-2, by sixth-seeded Pace in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship at the Fieldhouse. Senior outside hitter Nora Rugova put away 21 kills, while freshman outside hitter Megan Kurz hit .385 with 13 kills in the win for Pace.
  • Ray, Swiderski Rally Volleyball From 2-0 Deficit to Down Assumption, 3-2

    WORCESTER, Mass. (November 10, 2012) – Junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and sophomore outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) hammered out 19 kills each as both hit over .300 on Saturday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team to a come-from-behind, 3-2 victory over Assumption in Northeast-10 Conference play and the regular-season finale at Laska Gymnasium. Junior outside hitter Lauren Ostafin led Assumption with 12 kills.

(November 6, 2012) – Freshman middle Lina Kleinschmidt (Santa Barbara, Calif.) tied for the match lead with nine kills as well as a .333 attack percentage while factoring in on five blocks on Tuesday night to lead the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team to a 3-0 win over American International in Northeast-10 Conference play at the Fieldhouse. The win clinched home-court advantage for Franklin Pierce in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship, scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 13.
  • Kleinschmidt Piles Up Points as Volleyball Blitzes Pace, 3-1

(November 3, 2012) – Freshman middle Lina Kleinschmidt (Santa Barbara, Calif.) tied for the match lead with 12 kills, hit a match-best .478 and put back five blocks (two solo) on Saturday afternoon to lead the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Pace in Northeast-10 Conference play at the Fieldhouse. Franklin Pierce hit .218 on the afternoon, while holding Pace to just .057 over 158 attempts, thanks to nine blocks and 80 digs.

(November 2, 2012) – Junior middle Katie Jackson (Centennial, Colo.) led all players with a .385 attack percentage over 26 attempts and finished with a team-best 13 kills on Friday night to lead the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Adelphi in Northeast-10 Conference play at Franklin Pierce's Fieldhouse. Jackson led three Franklin Pierce hitters in double digits on the evening, as junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added 12 kills and sophomore outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) contributed 11.
  • Volleyball Ranked Sixth in Season’s First NCAA East Regional Rankings

    RINDGE, N.H. (October 31, 2012) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team is currently ranked sixth in the East Region, as announced Wednesday by the NCAA in its first regional rankings of the season. It is the first appearance in the regional rankings for the program since 2007.
  • Net Play Lifts Volleyball Over Saint Anselm, 3-1

    MANCHESTER, N.H. (October 31, 2012) – Junior middle Katie Jackson (Centennial, Colo.) piled up seven block assists to lead all players, while adding six kills, as the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team notched a 3-1 road win over Saint Anselm in Northeast-10 Conference play at Stoutenburgh Gym. As a team, Franklin Pierce collected 12 blocks on the evening.

    ALBANY, N.Y. (October 27, 2012) – Freshman outside hitter Madison Duffy (Bethel, Conn.) led the team with 11 kills and hit a match-best .500 over 18 attempts on Saturday afternoon, but the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team was defeated, 3-1, on the road by Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference play at Nolan Gymnasium. Freshman right side Carissa Dube collected a match-best 12 kills and hit .348 over 23 attempts to lead Saint Rose to the victory.

(October 26, 2012) – Sophomore outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) led all players with 12 kills on Friday night to lead the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team to a 3-0 road win over Le Moyne in Northeast-10 Conference play at Ted Grant Court. Freshman middle Lina Kleinschmidt (Santa Barbara, Calif.) served up a match-best six aces.

(October 23, 2012) – Junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) hit .448 on her way to a match-high 14 kills, served up six aces and added 10 digs to finish off her double-double on Tuesday night as the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team swept to a 3-0 win over Saint Michael’s in Northeast-10 Conference play at Franklin Pierce’s Fieldhouse. As a team, Franklin Pierce piled up 15 aces on the evening.

(October 20, 2012) – Sophomore outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) pounded out 15 kills and hit a team-best .278 on Saturday evening as the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team squeaked out a 3-2 win over LIU Post in non-conference play at Franklin Pierce’s Fieldhouse. Earlier in the day, Swiderski had a team-high 10 kills against Southern Connecticut State, though the Ravens were swept in a Northeast-10 Conference match, 3-0.

(October 16, 2012) – Freshman middle Lina Kleinschmidt (Santa Barbara, Calif.) hit .333 with 13 kills and added five block assists on Tuesday night to lead the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team to a 3-1 win on the road over Merrimack in Northeast-10 Conference play at Volpe Center. Junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added 14 kills, 14 digs, five blocks (three solo) and two aces to total 20 points in the victory for the Ravens.
  • Volleyball Serves Way to 3-1 Victory at Bentley

(October 13, 2012) – Junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and sophomore outside hitter Catie Swiderski (Rocky Point, N.Y.) tied for the match lead with 11 kills each on Saturday night, while the former added 13 digs and the latter hit .276 as the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team posted a 3-1 road win over Bentley in Northeast-10 Conference play at Auerbach Arena on the campus of Brandeis University. Franklin Pierce served up 20 aces in the match, the most since the team tallied 23 in a season-opening win over Bowie State on Sept. 4, 2010.

Later in the day, 19 kills for junior right side Katarina Sretenovic led NYIT to a 3-1 win over Franklin Pierce in non-conference play.

(October 2, 2012) - Junior libero Lauren Miller (Alexandria, Ind.) and junior outside hitter Natasha Ray (Colorado Springs, Colo.) tallied 32 and 28 digs, respectively, to key an intrepid defensive effort on Tuesday night, as the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to pick up a 3-2 road win over Southern New Hampshire in Northeast-10 Conference play at SNHU Fieldhouse. Junior middle Katie Jackson (Centennial, Colo.) had 15 kills and hit .433 to lead the Franklin Pierce offense.

Sophomore middle Kristy Atufunwa hammered out 25 kills and hit .395, both match-bests, to lead the way for New Haven.

(September 28, 2012) – Freshman outside hitter Madison Duffy (Bethel, Conn.) led the team with 10 kills on Friday night, but the Franklin Pierce University volleyball team was defeated, 3-1, on the road by Bridgeport in non-conference play at Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium. Sophomore outside hitter Biljana Savic posted a 16-kill, 14-dig double-double and hit .344 to lead the way for Bridgeport.
