RINDGE, N.H. (August 2, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team has collected their ninth American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 campaign it was announced last week by the association.

This is the ninth time in the last 10 seasons that Franklin Pierce has received the honor from the AVCA as the Crimson and Gray were one of 142 NCAA Division II recipients. The Ravens also achieved their Dig Pink fundraising goal through the Side-Out Foundation as they were one of 11 DII programs to reach their goal.

1,127 teams collected the Team Academic Award which broke the previous year's total of 977 to set an all-time high.

Since the 2000-2001 season, the number of recipients has increased every single year but two, while more than doubling the total over the last eight academic years. Since the award's inception in 1993, the amount of award winners has increased from 62 to its current number of 1,126.
