Alyssa Lambert Finishes 14th to Spark Women's Cross Country to 8th Place Finish

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. (September 21, 2013) – Sophomore Alyssa Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) placed 14th out of 207 competitors in a time of 19:09.31 on Saturday to help lead the Franklin Pierce University women’s cross country team to an eighth place finish out of 29 teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational in North Dartmouth, Mass.

The finish was Lambert’s highest of the season, as the Ravens produced a total score of 247 points. Franklin Pierce finished ahead of Northeast-10 foe Assumption, and an entry from Division I school Holy Cross. Rowan won the team title with 45 points.

Classmate Doria Brown (Little Falls, N.J.) continued her string of strong performances to begin the season, as she placed 29th with a time of 19:40.34. It marked her third-consecutive top-30 finish to open the 2013 campaign.

Sophomore Danielle Koch (Coventry, Conn.) placed 40th in a time of 20:03.36, while classmate Shannon Lozier (Merrimac, Mass.) followed in 65th with a mark of 20:33.68.

Rookie Holly Lindoe (Holbrook, N.Y.) was the fifth Ravens runner to count towards the team score, as he turned in a 108th place finish in a time of 21:28.18.

Franklin Pierce returns to action in two weeks when the Ravens travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to compete in the prestigious Paul Short Run.
